In clinical settings, it is important to gain insight into a woman's menstrual history. This helps better understand the reproductive female, and can be accomplished by asking questions about the following:
- The last normal menstrual period
- Length of the cycle
- Regularity of the cycle
- Characteristics of flow
- Symptoms related to cycle
- The age of the reproductive cycle
