- A malignant mesenchymal tumour
Predisposing factors
- AIDS
- Homosexual sexual transmission
- Nearly non-existent in hemophiliacs with AIDS
Clinical Presentation
- Involves the skin in 3/4 of cases
- Skin problems are often the site of initial presentation
- Also affects viscera in 3/4 of AIDS patients
- Viscera affected: lung, lymph nodes and gastrointestinal tract
