Homocysteine

Homocysteine is supposed to be some radical new risk factor that will help predict patient mortality in cardiovascular disease. Increased homocysteine levels are associated with increased clotting, decreased fibrinolysis, increased free radicals, and decreased endothelial function, all of which are related to cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis.
